POSITION AVAILABLE:
Assistant Instructional Faculty of Automotive Technology Management. Renewable non-tenure track, academic-year appointment.

SALARY:
Commensurate with experience, education, and University policy.

APPOINTMENT DATE:
August 2017

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Course/lab development and instruction in undergraduate and graduate programs.

2. Advisement, recruitment, and promotional activities.

3. Participation in professional organizations.

4. Service to university and region.

5. Some instruction may be off-campus, distance education, or internet-based.

6. Interest in graduate teaching is desirable.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master s degree from an accredited institution required.

2. Current background in contemporary engine repair, service, rebuilding and performance applications.

3. ASE (National Test) certification in the primary areas of instruction is required.

4. Teaching experience at the college/university level is desirable.

5. Relevant industrial experience required.

6. Excellent communication skills desirable.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This renewable non-tenure track position will involve a variety of teaching and advisement duties in direct support of the B.S. in Automotive Technology Management program.

Typical areas of instruction include, but are not restricted to:
Contemporary Power Systems, General Auto Systems, Engine Performance and Rebuild, Auto Electrical, Vehicle Fuel and Air Mgt. Sys. (Including Alternative Fuels), Hybrid and Advanced Electric Drive Vehicles, Manual Drivetrains, Automotive Capstone, Industrial Mgt. and related courses.

The main campus is located in Warrensburg, 18,000 residents, located 50 miles southeast of Kansas City. Central s 14,000 students can choose from more than 150 areas of study in an atmosphere of personalized attention and individualized instruction. In addition, Central features 10 professional programs, 27 areas of teacher certification, and 50 graduate programs. Two areas of doctoral study are offered.
